My interest in stonemasonry started as a boy growing up in historic Braidwood, in southern New South Wales. I was fascinated by the monuments in the local cemetery, full of rich carvings and delicate letters. I loved the Colonial and Victorian Georgian architecture of the streetscape.
In 2002 I started building drystone walls in Canberra and its surrounds. Over the coming years I worked with and was trained by drystone wallers, monumental masons and heritage stonemasons.
I am a qualified stonemason and carpenter who has completed formal and informal training in both traditional and modern building practices. I am conversant with best practice conservation principles, and work with a team of qualified tradespeople who also love what they do.
